Orpah: “forelock or fawn”
We find Orpah mentioned in the book of Ruth. We don’t know much about her. We do know she was Naomi’s daughter in law and went back to her home after her husband died after Naomi told her to go.
Ruth 1:4 ~ And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.
Ruth 1:11 ~ And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?
Ruth 1:14~ And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
Obadiah: “servant of the Lord”
We don’t know much about Obadiah. We only have a short 21 verse book about his vision of the fall of Edom. He possibly lived around the years 853 B.C. or 605 B.C. I’m looking forward to going to Heaven so I can meet the ones we don’t know much about.
Obadiah 1 ~ The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord God concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
Obadiah 21 ~ And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord's.
